There once was a little boy who had many friends. However, the boy was very immature and was unable to control his own emotions. When his friends disappeared for a while, he became extremely sad and angry and chose to hide his face under a mask – a terribly wicked and evil mask. This mask concealed the boy's true feelings, but it ended up controlling him and causing endless problems for the people of his land.

While she wears no mask, Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko has an impressive façade of her own – a stone dead face incapable of expressing any emotion at all. Her perfect poker face was a gift, or maybe a curse, given to Tsukiko by a supposedly magical statue. Tsukiko did in fact wish for the statue to make her more mature and less obvious with her emotions. But, like most flippant gods, the god of the statue chose to grant a literal interpretation of the wish, bringing Tsukiko unexpected trouble.

Of course, Tsukiko's newly acquired magical ailment is not entirely a burden. Thanks to the statue's gift, she finally acquires the freedom to speak her mind. Whereas before, her childish face and emotional explosions made it difficult for her to convey what she really wanted to say, Tsukiko now has the ability to be something she never could: an absolutely brutal snarker. Her dead-set poker face hides all her pain and suffering, allowing her to put up a strong front without showing a hint of weakness. Her face reflects only apathy; her tone is cold and monotonous. No longer betrayed by her flushed cheeks and naturally expressive eyes, Tsukiko can now tackle the obstacles in life that she has never dared to face before: her sister, her mother, and one particularly perverted neighborhood boy.

While the gifts and curses of the statue are said to be reversible, Tsukiko is hesitant to make the attempt. After all, would it be wise to get rid of the curse that opened so many new doors in her life? One that helped her make new friends and finally gained her the attention of the one boy she had longed to catch the eyes of?

Whatever choice she will need to make in the end, Tsukiko is no longer afraid to act according to the stirring of her heart. After all, it is no longer possible for her to lose face.
